WELCOME to East Fairview Church! We’re glad you came and hope you a warm welcome. Relax and worship…you’re among friends. We hope our fellowship, singing, prayers, and study of God’s Word will be a blessing to God and an encouragement to you.
The offering is a weekly opportunity for our members and regular attendees to give tithes and gifts support the ministry of East Fairview Church. Please record your visit in the black attendance folder located in your row.
The church nursery (which is available for children up to age 4) is located in the main hallway, past the restrooms, on the left. Please feel free to entrust your children to us for this hour.
Children’s bulletins and other resources are available on the Children’s shelf in the back corner of the sanctuary.
The flowers up front are in loving memory of Mervin Sauder, from Esther and the family.
There will be a special Congregational Business Meeting on Sunday, August 14th immediately following the worship service to discuss and decide whether to continue with one worship service or return to two. Please make plans to attend this very important meeting! We truly value your opinion and your vote!

Church picnic!
The picnic will be held in the pavilion on August 27th, at 4:30pm. This year we will be enjoying barbeque chicken by Dennis Peters and homemade sides & desserts by our members. The Dunk Tank will be present again. Our lucky dunkers include: Greg Berkey, Steve Petrosky, Matt Fahnestock, and Ryan Dunlevy! And of course it just wouldn’t be complete without a water balloon fight to end the evening! There is a sign up sheet available at the Welcome Desk. If you plan to attend, PLEASE SIGN UP so that we know how much chicken BBQ to order. Last names beginning with A-M are asked to bring a dessert, and N-Z are asked to bring a hot or cold side dish.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! It’s time to begin thinking of the next church pictorial directory. We will be taking pictures October 20-22, 2011. Please start marking your calendars to assure that you will be here for picture time! Be on the lookout for more info as time moves closer. If you are interested in helping out with the directory, please contact Jessica Gibble.

On Sunday, August 7th, East Fairview will again be traveling to New York City to provide a service and serve a meal to the homeless at the Bowery Mission. last two years the entire church van was filled and it would be great to fill it up again this year!! This is an excellent way to actively live out Jesus' challenge to us in Matthew 25 "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." will leave from the Church after Sunday School and return around 11pm. will stop for meals on the way and, if time allows, tour New York for a brief period of time before the service. , we can tour the Outreach Center to get a greater insight into the Bowery's mission. is encouraged to join us for this afternoon of fellowship while commuting (I understand the back of the van was a bit bouncy last year - so we may go a bit slower this year), serving Jesus and supporting those who attend and provide the service!! my experience everyone who has attended and assisted in the serving the food or providing the service has been challenged in their Faith. NOW TO JOIN US!! Scott Moyer at 203 0458 or scott.a.moyer@us.pwc.com with questions or comments.
Just a reminder...if you are in need of visitation during Pastor Jimm’s sabbatical, please contact the church office at 665-4873 or Barb Earhart at 665-5941 (home) or 344-9454 (cell). Also, if you would like to make an addition or change to the purple prayer sheet, please contact Nancy Auker.

The Surge Youth Group will be traveling to Brooklyn from August 10-14 for our summer missions trip. We will be working with the Brooklyn Church and have the opportunity to serve with various ministries. We also have the opportunity to set up a grill outside the church and hand out hamburgers and hot dogs. We are hoping for a donation from a local grocery store but would like an additional 10lbs of hamburgers. If you can donate any amount we would greatly appreciate it. Please place them in the cafe kitchen by Sunday, August 7, marked youth missions. Thanks in advance.
Good News! Thanks to Creekside Construction and many volunteers, the new gym roof is finished. A job well done. The bad news...the total cost of the project was $28, 483.11. Donations to this project should be designated for the new roof or building fund. “Thank you” to everyone involved! - The Steward Team
