We began the Christmas season by reading the parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Value. Jesus reveals a powerful truth: we choose based on what we believe is most valuable. Often, lesser things clutter our “table” and steal our appetite for what matters most. We hesitate to let go because we fear loss or fail to recognize God’s greater gain. Yet faith says, “Even when I don’t fully see or understand the value, I choose to believe it’s worth it.” Jesus made space for us through His joyful sacrifice. This Advent, put Him first, make room for others, and trust — the pain is worth the gospel gain.
